The May 19th Primary Election is approaching fast, and this moment matters more than ever!
If you have been feeling discouraged, overwhelmed, or hopeless about the direction of our country, this is one of the clearest ways to fight back. Voting in the primary election is how we shape the future before the general election even begins. It is how we choose candidates who will stand with working people, protect our communities, and reflect the values we want to see in Pennsylvania.
Have you checked your voter registration and made your plan to vote yet? If not, you can do so here.
The last day to register to vote in this election is May 4th, and the last day to request a mail-in ballot is May 12th! We highly encourage you to request a mail-in ballot three weeks before May 19th (so April 28th) to ensure it arrives in time for your vote to be counted.
Primary elections are where so much of our future is decided. They determine which candidates move forward and whose voices, values and priorities will be represented on the ballot. If we want leaders who will fight for working people instead of political establishments and corporate interests, we have to show up now.
And let’s be clear: despite some confusion and fear being stirred up nationally, voting in Pennsylvania’s upcoming primary is still safe, protected, and fully in effect. If you meet the usual age and residency requirements, you are still eligible to vote. Mail-in voting is still available in our commonwealth.
That means this is not the moment to pull back. This is the moment to lean in.
Recently, Donald Trump signed an executive order to create a national eligible voter list and restrict mail-in voting. This order is already being challenged in court by several states and organizations across the country for being unconstitutional.
If those in power are working this hard to confuse voters, spread misinformation, and make people feel powerless, it is because they know what is possible when working people come together. They know when we organize, vote and bring our friends, family and neighbors with us, we become impossible to ignore.
If we want to keep Pennsylvania free, protect the people we love, and build a future rooted in dignity and justice, voting is key. And getting plugged into year-round organizing is how we turn that vote into lasting power.
