Trick or Treat? Don’t Fall For Billionaire Backed Tricks!

Billionaires like PA’s richest man, Jeff Yass, are spending millions of dollars on deceptive mailers trying to trick Pennsylvanians into voting “No” in the Supreme Court of PA retention election.

Why would they do that? Billionaires like Yass want control of the court, redistricting, and our rights and freedoms. They know their best weapon is confusion, so they’re intentionally spreading misinformation, flooding our mailboxes and screens with lies about the three Democratic justices up for retention. But we won’t let them win! Here are the facts:

  1. Justices Dougherty, Donohue, and Wecht are up for retention (which basically means they want to keep their jobs and protect our democracy) are only in their first term. Voters are deciding this year whether to keep the court’s current 5-2 Democratic majority.
  2. The nonpartisan Pennsylvania Bar Association recommends Yes votes for all three Supreme Court justices because they are fair and independent.
  3. The current majority on the PA Supreme Court has defended our democracy and fair elections by stopping politicians from gerrymandering and attempts to disenfranchise voters from all parties.

  4. Unlike the US Supreme Court, the current PA Supreme Court majority has protected equal rights for working people, including the right to seek abortion and reproductive health care, like birth control and contraception.

Jeff Yass and his billionaire besties will stop at nothing to dismantle the court that stands up for everyday people, fair elections, and basic rights. It’s up to us to fight back! Are you ready to vote “YES”, not YASS, in the Nov 4th election? Check your voter registration and make your plan to vote here! When you’re done, sign up here to phonebank for a Supreme Court of PA that works for US, not billionaires.

Edwin, Mary, Hannah, & Alec: PA Stands Up Comms Team

Right now, our communities are facing a double crisis: the federal government has shut down and Pennsylvania still doesn’t have a state budget. This means even more uncertainty for working families. We need everyone to make their voices heard—tell Congress to restore healthcare funding for all families, no matter what we look like or where we come from. Our health and futures shouldn’t be bargaining chips.
