Pennsylvanians Over Profit! The Big Fugly Bill impacts all of us. Here’s how we fight back – together!

All Eyes On Yass coalition’s action at the PA Capitol on June 23, 2025

So, the Big Fugly Bill passed. Now what?

The vast majority of Republicans in Congress proved that they’ll always bow to Trump and the rich at the expense of working families. This atrocious bill puts billionaires and greedy corporations before the people our elected officials are supposed to serve. It will defund services like SNAP, Medicare, Medicaid, senior care centers, Planned Parenthood, and will cost PA 49,000 government and healthcare jobs. This is a heinous attack on working people across the country. Trump and his billionaire besties are willing and eager to cut life saving services for working people just for some extra tax breaks. The rich hoarding wealth is killing people.

It’s okay to be scared, angry, etc. Feel those feelings, take that outrage, and put your passion into action. It’s up to us to protect each other, and we have the power to do it when we work together. It’s going to take all of us. So, how can you do your part?

Join us in the fight for a PA that works for all of us today!

Folks are going to lose access to vital services if states don’t step up and come up with creative solutions to fund them. Luckily, in PA, it’s also budget season, and the PA state budget fight isn’t over. The All Eyes On Yass coalition’s Pathway to Prosperity budget platform details how we can tax billionaires and greedy corporations fairly to ensure that we all have the resources we need to thrive, such as healthcare, transit, public education, affordable housing, and more.

Currently, PA’s backward state tax system forces the lowest-income households to pay the highest percentage of their income, while the top one percent pays the smallest percentage, if they pay anything. While working families struggle to meet our needs, billionaires make record profits off of our labor. It’s time for billionaires and corporations to pay their fair share!

We will not obey in advance, and neither should our elected officials. Tell your PA state rep to support HB 1678! The bill would require Jeff Yass’s TikTok, Google, Meta, Amazon, and Microsoft to apply their existing 5% gross receipts tax to annual gross revenue derived from digital advertising. Paired with the recently passed HB 1610, that would add more than $2 billion to next year’s PA tax revenue! That’s $2 billion that our state government can allocate towards services and resources that working people need and deserve, while having little to no impact on these billionaire-run social media companies.

HB 1678 transcends party lines; it’s pro-working people, and our reps are supposed to serve the people, not billionaires and corporations. A similar law is already in place in 28 other states, including Texas, which is both a Republican-controlled and business-friendly state. Click here to make your voice heard and tell your rep to support HB 1678!

Hope is not lost. Together, we can and will protect each other. Thank you for everything you do!
