Hey Friends,
It’s the most wonderful time of the year, election season!
National Voter Registration Day, September 17th, and the last day to register to vote in PA, October 21st, are fast approaching! Maybe you haven’t voted before, it’s been a while, or you moved recently. We’re here to help. This is how you vote in PA!
Start by clicking this link. Here, you can easily register to vote, check your status, request a mail-in ballot, and make a plan to vote!
If it’s your first time voting, or your first time voting at a new polling place, you will need to bring a valid ID with you. Click here to find your polling place.
If you can’t physically make it to the polls, request a mail-in ballot by the deadline, October 29th. A mail-in ballot is a great option if you’re not physically able to make it to the polls, you’re too busy with work, childcare, etc., on Election Day, or you’ll be away from your residence for work or school. After you fill out your mail-in ballot, you can return it through the mail (USPS), by dropping it off at your county election office, a dropbox, or another officially designated location. Check your county’s website for more specific information. Under Pennsylvania law, voters must return their own ballots with the exception of voters with a disability who have designated someone in writing using this form.
Remember to check your registration status before October 21, and make a plan to vote! I’m going to vote in person with my roommate after they get back from work on Election Day, and afterward, we’ll celebrate with a sweet treat. Remember to text three friends after you vote to remind them to vote too! I like to send my friends a selfie with my “I Voted” sticker. Do you have any election day traditions or folks joining you at the polls?
Let’s get out the vote, together. Join us for a deep canvass phone bank event or contact me about getting involved statewide, and have a great week!
In solidarity,
Hannah
