News You Can Use – Do You Know Where Your Drop Boxes Are?

Happy Wednesday! I hope you’re doing well. 

I wanted to bring to your attention Commissioners Kertes and Chew’s recent decision not to install any ballot drop boxes in Westmoreland County for the 2024 elections. This is concerning because drop boxes have been a vital resource for voters since 2020, providing a convenient and safe way to return ballots and participate in democracy. 

It’s disappointing to see this rollback of voting access, especially in a year where voter turnout is expected to be high. Westmoreland County is setting a dangerous precedent in Pennsylvania, and it’s up to us to voice our concerns.  We need to make it easier, not harder, for people to exercise their right to vote.

I encourage you to be vigilant about any shenanigans happening in your area. If you hear of anything, be sure to let us know! 

Also, make your plan to vote and be aware of your polling location and the ballot drop boxes in your area. Our vote is our power, and every Pennsylvanian has the right to make their voice heard. 

If this decision makes you mad, here’s what you can do! Join your local chapter’s team meetings and get involved locally.
