We did it, Pennsylvania!
Last week we celebrated a lot of wins. We protected the Supreme Court of PA by retaining Justices Donohue, Dougherty, and Wecht, and many of our endorsed candidates won across our chapters! The people won and the billionaires, who have no place in our politics at any level, lost big!
We secured so many wins for our communities by coming together, having meaningful conversations with neighbors, making calls, knocking on doors, forming new relationships, communicating effectively, showing up, and voting! We put in the work and proved that when we come together across race, place, and generation, WE WIN! Our communities are stronger and safer because of our hard work, and that’s worth celebrating.
It’s time to take what we learned from these wins and use it to keep fighting for what we all deserve — safety, dignity, and the resources we need to thrive. Join us for our Post-Election Huddle TONIGHT 6-7:30pm to celebrate our wins, debrief our losses, and get clear on a path forward.
In a political moment where Trump and billionaires continue to consolidate authoritarian power, bringing working people in and organizing our communities has never been more important. We will not obey in advance!
ht. Everyday we’re seeing OUR elected officials, working against our best interests and betraying the very people who put them in office. Our very own Senator John Fetterman abandoned Pennsylvanians by voting to end the government shutdown without any way to address the healthcare crisis! What is going to happen to the nearly 500,000 Pennsylvanians who purchase their healthcare through Pennie (AKA the Affordable Care Act marketplace in PA) once the current tax credits expire? 250,000 neighbors could lose their healthcare because of rising premiums.
We all deserve affordable healthcare, period. As someone with pre-existing conditions, this is both scary and infuriating. Our electeds are supposed to work with and for us, and elected officials like Fetterman are doing the opposite. Local, state, and federal politicians work for us, not billionaires and not the Trump administration. I’m taking my anger and turning it into action because I saw what happened last week. I know that if we continue to work together and utilize our collective power, we have the power to make change and protect each other, but it’s going to take all of us.
It’s up to us to hold our elected officials accountable and secure the resources our communities need, so let’s get to work! Join the movement today!
In community,
Hannah
