No matter how hard he tries, Donald Trump is a president, not a king. The billionaire ridden Trump administration is intentionally overwhelming us. With more than 200+ executive orders, court cases, and PR stunts, their goal is to make working people so overwhelmed, exhausted, and distracted that we give up. But we don’t work for them. Our elected officials work for us, and when they don’t act in our interest, it’s up to all of us to hold them accountable. Billionaires don’t run this country; we do. Together, we can parse through the BS and keep each other safe by acting while informed. It’s important that we know how to act strategically and intentionally, and we’ll do so together. Elon Musk has launched an all out assault on working Americans. As Trump’s unelected co-president, Musk has made it clear that he plans to slash funding to Medicare, Medicaid, and other programs we rely on. He wants to do this, to cut taxes for himself and his billionaire friends, but we’re fighting back. We’re joining our friends from the Working Families Party for a rally outside Ryan Mackenzie’s Allentown office next Wednesday, 2/19, at noon to tell him to stand up for us and stop Musk’s cuts! Will you join us? Sign up here! I hope that like myself, you can find solace and inspiration in this analysis written for Waging Non-Violence. Particularly #6: Do not obey in advance and do not self-censor. Do not give in to the inclination to obey and give up because so many things are happening at once (on purpose). Remember to stay grounded, remember there are guardrails in place that protect us from unconstitutional actions, and we can’t change everything in one day. Change starts at a local, community level. That’s what makes the work we do together so impactful. Regardless of the federal circus, we’re still fighting for the resources we all need and deserve here in PA. We’re building a PA, a country, a world that works for all of us for generations to come. It takes time, and it takes all of us doing what we can. A better world is possible if we all work together to get there. So don’t wait, get involved, become a member, and join us for an upcoming event! |
