Nanticoke, PA<\/strong> — On Saturday, July 13 at Larry\u2019s Pizza in Nanticoke, NEPA Stands Up hosted a meet and greet with their endorsed state house candidate Megan Kocher. There was no shortage of pizza and smiles, as Megan built connections with hopeful constituents. HD-119 locals showed up to learn more about Megan\u2019s campaign and how they can help her win in November.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NEPA Stands Up members endorsed Megan Kocher this year because of her strong stances on issues that affect working families, like public education, reproductive freedom, workers\u2019 rights, and healthcare. Kocher is a first-time candidate running for Pennsylvania State House District 119 <\/em>challenging young Republican incumbent, Alex Reincavage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI watched my parents work opposite shifts and go without seeing each other when I was young, because that is what they had to do to provide for our family,\u201d explained Kocher. \u201cAnd I\u2019m incredibly grateful to have grown up with two hard-working parents who taught me the value of hard work and that if I wanted something throughout my life, I would have to work for it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event was well attended, and Megan didn\u2019t shy away from addressing several voters\u2019 concerns and welcoming their questions. Pennsylvania has had a one-seat Democratic House majority since 2022. There are only a few competitive House districts<\/a> this election, including House District 119 where Megan Kocher could more firmly establish Democratic control of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Candice Muench, a teacher in the district who attended the event explained \u201cMegan Kocher is an avid supporter of public education. She understands what adequate and equitable funding means for Pennsylvania students and how a fair funding formula will positively impact the lives of families and students in the 119th district. All of our children deserve well-funded, prosperous schools. We need a representative that is going to put our families and children first. This is one of the many reasons I am voting for Megan Kocher in November.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
